Hire a bike and explore the countryside
If you're spending your holiday in the UK, why not get out of the car and hire a bike to explore the countryside?
All the National Parks have miles of cycle routes of varying levels of difficulty. You will find the some very gentle and family friendly paths in the New Forest, South Pembrokeshire and in Norfolk; mountain bike enthusiasts will enjoy the challenge of cycling in the Yorkshire Dales, the Trossachs or Snowdonia. Find out more about cycling in the National Parks.
To hire a bike to use in one of the National Parks, follow the links on the National Parks website. To find out about cycle hire in other districts of the UK, check the information available from Visit Britain, where you will also find helpful details about taking your bike on public transport.
2010 is the 15th anniversary of the National Cycle Network. The network consists of thousands of miles of cycle routes throughout the UK and maps and other information are available from Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity.
